Freeze drying

Freeze drying removes water from biological and inorganic materials which heat would damage, but preserves structure and composition . It is used mainly for delicate , relatively high value materials . Such as pharmaceuticals ,vaccines , antibiotics, blood fractions , biological specimens of all sizes such as micro-organisms, dissections, whole animals and delicate inorganic materials , metallic and ceramic powders and materials needing a high internal surface areas after drying . Freeze drying is action of removing water from frozen samples held in a vacuum chamber , the frozen water is converted into water vapor by the sublimation process .
